Description The mountainous coasts of Eastern Mexico melted into the humid and warm veil of late summer. In Veracruz, the daughter of King Tenizti, with her devastating beauty and the nickname Estrella de la Mañana, loved to walk alone, discovering the hidden corners of the dense forest. Bold and determined, Morning Star was regarded by all as the future queen of the Totonac Kingdom. One morning, as she ran through the plains, she caught the eye of a young boy carrying wood on his head, the Deer Prince. They exchanged only a few words, but the magic of love was already in motion. When King Tenizti learned of this romance, he was blinded by rage. He sent his priests in pursuit. The sky darkened. He decided that the souls of Morning Star and Deer Prince would be sacrificed to appease the anger of the Gods. From the tears of their blood, a small shrub was born. The branches intertwined like the lovers in their last embrace. Flowers shaped like stars covered the tree entirely. A few days later, numerous shoots sprang from the ground, and the first strands of black vanilla swayed in the wind, whispering the breath of love from the two departed souls.
