Slumberhouse Waiting List and General Information

Here is some information regarding our Waiting List program that we think will be useful to all users:

1. This system is new and is subject to change- for the better! Our goal is to find a method that simultaneously offers fans an avenue to have a stress-free and guaranteed bottle in the event of a drop, and for newer enthusiasts to have an opportunity to try Slumberhouse. We always release some bottles to the public, but as this program is refined we think our chances of sharing more fragrances with more folks will become much higher. Since we have a total of two people working here we are able to be as careful as possible that the bottles offered to the public aren't sold to resellers or those attempting to trick the system and buy beyond the single-bottle limit.

2. We have a lot of folks asking for a blanket reservation (i.e. any Slumberhouse), and folks asking for very obscure bottles. We are no longer accepting requests for “all” Slumberhouse fragrances, but you are welcome to request any Slumberhouse bottle (even if it is very unlikely to return). The reality of the one-bottle-per-shipment rule is that we will need to know preferences ahead of each drop, as sending clarifying emails to everyone requesting multiple bottles (which is almost everyone) would crush our very high standard of quick package turnaround and eat into our ability to help everyone at our very high standard of customer service. What we humbly request is that you give some thought to your priorities, and send us an amended Waiting List request that includes preferences so we can offer you peace of mind and ease of access to your most desired fragrances- even if you simply denoted that you are more interested in new releases over flagships, or vice-versa (though being as specific as possible is most helpful). We are completely aware that most Slumberhouse releases and shipments are proceeded by rumors and breadcrumbs on forums and social media so we want to make this clear- you can change your preferences. In fact, it is probably wise to do so as word starts to spread (for example, many people had started hearing about Black Grev in the weeks leading up to its release and used this speculative information to place a request for a fragrance we weren't 100% sure would even come our way- and it paid off!). If you want to amend your Waiting List at any time you can do so via this page by emailing info@fumerie.com. Your most recent request will always replace all old requests, even if they are for a single bottle. Requests do not compound or compile, so sending multiple or many requests will not translate desire, urgency, or severe preferences- it will result in old requests being erased. We do not have the ability to sift through the hundreds of requests we receive and build a personalized request list for anyone, so your best bet is to be intentional. Hopefully you’ve read this far!

3. Our goal as a business is to be exceptionally honest- whether in the fact that our curative process gives equal footing to all fragrance houses in terms of representation, or in the idea of being extremely transparent in our reservation protocols. This process is meant to be as equitable as possible and therefore will use the simplified model of chronological preference- that is to say, when you make your request you are entered into a line at that position based on when the request was made. As it stands- this is giving folks a lot of opportunities to score something (if not the exact bottle at the top of your personal list). A request for a fragrance does not mean you must purchase it, and you can change your mind upon being informed of its arrival (though this will not usually result in your being bumped up the line if you prefer something other than what you are offered). Please know that on our side of things we are doing our absolute best to make sure this program is as fair and stress-free as possible.
In our effort to be transparent we would also like to make clear that while you are free to email us and ask questions at any given time, we will always share any information regarding Slumberhouse releases that we have or can via our Slumberhouse email list- so no one out there will have more or better information on Slumberhouse shipments than anyone else at any given time (at least not any information provided by Fumerie). If you would like to sign up for Slumberhouse-specific email updates, please fill out the above form and let us know.

4. We have been asked many times how this process may or may not affect an individual's opportunity to purchase a second bottle from stocks of Slumberhouse fragrances that don't immediately sell out (i.e. last year's shipments of Mond and Sibet that were actually available for some time). As of now- that is a bridge we will have to cross when we actually come to it, so the limit remains in place. Since we don't know exactly what we are getting, when we are getting it, or in what quantities our attempts to answer this question normatively have sort of escaped us. For now, the answer is this- if you are curious as to whether you can purchase more than one bottle of Slumberhouse from a shipment please reach out to us and ask before making a second purchase. If we have anyone simply purchase a second bottle (or a bottle they were not invited to buy) we will see this, and cancel the order (technically this can possibly result in suspension from the Waiting List program- so please do reach out before making a purchase). Every time we use a password-protected page to fulfill orders, every bottle on that page will be accounted for with exactly one invite per customer. As some of you can attest, we watch this process very closely. In the as-of-now unlikely event that we receive enough of any fragrance to release it to the public for more than a few months, we may reevaluate these rules and inform you of any changes- but we believe everyone in this community is willing to aid us in our commitment to give even more and newer enthusiasts a very solid chance of enjoying Slumberhouse. Over time this program will hopefully result in these opportunities being more prevalent, and hopefully soon.

Slumberhouse FAQs & Fumerie Policies

Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions we have been getting about Slumberhouse and our Waiting List Program:

1. Q: Is the limit for Slumberhouse purchases one per shipment or one per fragrance per shipment?
A:
For some time now our rule has been one bottle per household, per shipment, total. This total limit rule applies to the entire shipment, which will often yield a few public restocks as we sift through Waiting List invites and those who opt out of purchasing for whatever reason. If you are curious as to whether the purchase you want to make is from the same shipment, the best policy is simply to ask by emailing info@fumerie.com, but we can tell you if a "restock" happens within two weeks of the original drop it is from the most previous shipment and second bottles are not allowed to be purchased.

2. Q: Why is the limit on Slumberhouse one per household per shipment and not one per fragrance?
A:
The simple answer is that it reflects our values. Our rules and systems around Slumberhouse shipments are meant to be in service to our enthusiasts and newcomers alike. We can of course understand how this can be frustrating when you are trying to build a collection, but because of our Waiting List program, you are guaranteed a very high success rate of procuring particular fragrances in the long run if you choose to participate in it (which we recommend!). The positive feedback we receive around our rules and systems is far greater than the negative, and is filled with folks who have been trying for years to access Slumberhouse and finally have thanks to these efforts, as well as enthusiasts around the world who are no longer missing out on drops because of time-zones, daily tasks, or just bad timing. If you have more questions about the Waiting List Program please email info@fumerie.com.

3. Q: Does changing my preference list for my Waiting List change my place in line?

A: Never. You are welcome to change your preferences any time! Only making a purchase moves you down in line, and exceptions are made in keeping with your preferences. We are never quite sure what we are getting, so for example: if you purchase your third preferred fragrance and your number one arrives in the next shipment we will likely offer this to you via the Waiting List as well.

4. Q: I have heard online it is easy to be removed from the Waiting List/ mailing list. Is that true?

A:
Not at all! If we could find a way to it, there wouldn't be extra rules or procedures around Slumberhouse at all- but as you well know demand is pretty incredible for these stellar fragrances, and solutions were needed. Mistakes happen, and the mad-dash nature of trying to purchase these fragrances is well understood on this end. The very few people who have been removed were given many chances and offered many conversations, and ultimately chose to try and purchase with intentions that were against our policies and negatively impactful to this community. We ask that you take feedback from any individual claiming to have experienced unfair treatment around how we handle Slumberhouse with a large grain of salt as that individual likely tried to scam us, and may be attempting to scam others. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email info@fumerie.com any time.
